We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing EU team! The job is remote with access to our offices in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Berlin.

The role

At Burt, we work fast paced to always be one step ahead of the market. So when a new challenge arises, be it a change in the market’s requirements or a time consuming internal process, the Platform team jumps into the fray to make sure we’re set up for success. As a Software Engineer at Burt, you are laying the foundation for our data products used daily by the world's largest media companies. It is your job to know the technical ins and outs of our data integrations and models while working closely with client-facing roles to ensure they align with our customer’s objectives.

Common responsibilities for a Software Engineer are:

  • Research systems and figure out ways to implement them in our platform
  • Setup and maintain data integrations and models
  • Assist with technical implementation of customer solutions
  • Develop algorithms to help make raw data more useful to clients
  • Continuous improvement of our architecture

Job duties

You will be part of the Platform team in the EU, working closely with the Customer Success and Engineering teams to improve and maintain the foundation on which we build solutions for our customers. Examples of the technologies you will be working with (previous experience a plus but not required): AWS, SQL, Git, Ruby. There will also be opportunities to work closely with, and contribute to, the product development.

We are looking for
  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in an appropriate field or equivalent experience is preferred but not required
  • Good understanding of data structures, databases and algorithms
  • Strong technical communication skills and passionate about good software-engineering practices
  • Interest in working with people and applying your problem solving skills to solve real world problems for customers
  • Spoken and written English at full professional proficiency
  • Work permit for the European Union
We merit experience from
  • Previous experience in a SaaS company
  • Experience with Ruby, SQL and AWS
  • Extracurricular activities or relevant part-time employment in parallel with studies
  • Contributions to open source projects
